Relative newcomers to the scene Platone Studio have released several free effect plug-ins that frankly sound the like the got replacement bionic bees knees. All three of them are all about keeping things super simple and sleek with their modern, easy-on-the-eyes designs and you can download all the VST’s direct from their website with no sign up required.
DJ Filter: Ever dreamt of getting that iconic Pioneer DJM mixer filter sound into your tracks? Well, you’re in luck! This effect is a game-changer in the DJ world, and while there have been a few emulations out there like the now-discontinued DJMFilter from Xfer Records. Platone Studio has taken it to the next level with a fresh twist.
The plug-in’s high and low-pass filters are super clean, and with the adjustable filter slope (Q), you can give your transitions that extra bite just when you need it. Plus it’s super easy on your CPU, totally free, and available in VST2, VST3, and Audio Unit formats for both PC and Mac. I’ve certainly found this VST has become a staple “go-to” filter effect in my own toolbox.

Flex Reverb: This slick looking reverb plug-in brings a top-notch plate reverb emulation to the table with a clean, pristine sound and a built-in graphic EQ. It’s got all the essentials: Pre-Delay, Size, Width, and Dampening, plus a dedicated filtering section for precise reverb shaping.
The filtering feature is a standout, especially since most free reverb plugins skip this and leave you juggling an extra EQ. With Flex Reverb, you get to fine-tune your reverb effortlessly, keeping your mix clear and uncluttered.
You can also blend the reverb effect with Wet & Dry controls, allowing you to achieve great results if you fancy whacking it straight on a single channel strip or Bus. Sure, there are tons of reverb FX plug-in options out there and everyone’s got their own reverb preferences (which can be a total debate fest!), but this one’s definitely a keeper in my book!

Delay Eleven: A straightforward delay plug-in with a built in saturation section to add a bit of colour and warmth to your sound, making it more than just your average delay.
You’ve got your standard controls: Time, Feedback, and Stereo Width, plus the ability to sync the delay time to your host’s tempo, with options for triplet or dotted notes. For quick tonal tweaks, the Bright and Dark knobs let you adjust the character of your delay with a single twist.
Another handy feature is the Balance knob, which lets you tweak the panning right within the plugin. This means you can shape the stereo image of your effect without needing extra processing. My score: as with reverbs, delay plug-ins are two-a-penny, however I’d definitely give Delay Eleven a spin – it’s made it’s way into my delay plug-ins favourite list!
